Onboarding, security and proof

These answers cover the practical side of working with the Tracera product: how quickly you go live, how your data is protected, and the evidence behind the platform.

How long does it take to get up and running on Tracera?

Onboarding runs through a structured, workshop-led process and reaches a live, reviewed emissions inventory in a median of about six weeks, depending on data readiness and scope. Migrating off a prior platform with historical data intact can be faster, in as little as three weeks.

How much work is onboarding for our team?

Team lift depends on how much the vendor manages. On Tracera, customer success manages much of the data ingestion and setup, and the platform works alongside existing systems, so it is designed to be a light internal lift rather than a heavy implementation.

For a team that just finished another rollout, the relevant point is that this is not another all-hands project. Configuration happens through guided workshops, with the heavy data work handled for you.

How is our data secured?

Tracera is SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO 27001 certified, hosts on AWS across EU and US regions, encrypts data in transit and at rest, and isolates each customer’s data in a single-tenant model. Access is controlled by SSO and fine-grained, site-level permissions.

For manufacturers holding sensitive operational data, the site-level permission model matters as much as the certifications — teams see only the sites assigned to them.

Who is Tracera built with, and can auditors verify the work?

Incubated at Bain, Tracera built its methodology with PwC, KPMG and Grant Thornton. Auditors can log into the platform directly to review a company’s work rather than relying on exported reports. Its emissions accounting is aligned to ISO 14064-3 and the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard.

Auditor-in-the-platform is the mechanism behind the trust claim. Reviews happen against the live trail.

Is Tracera proven with manufacturers like us?

Tracera is deployed across nearly 50 enterprises in 14 countries, including multi-billion-dollar manufacturers, and reports a 100 percent manufacturing client retention rate. Reference calls with comparable manufacturers are available during evaluation.

For a manufacturer weighing the risk, enterprise scale plus staying power is the signal that this is not early-stage software.

What results do manufacturers see?

Reported outcomes center on time and cost. Manufacturers cut the manual hours spent on data collection and audit prep, and displace recurring consulting spend.

The mechanism is the story — less manual work, a defensible trail — with the numbers as support: audit prep time cut by 88 percent (from 128 hours to 16) and 4.6 billion kWh tracked.
