What the platform does

These answers cover what Tracera actually does — how it collects emissions data, calculates it and turns it into disclosures — for manufacturers running many sites and messy inputs. The through-line is one platform from raw data to audit-ready report.

What does Tracera do?

Tracera is a sustainability data platform that collects emissions and operational data across a company’s sites, calculates emissions and produces reporting for regulatory and voluntary frameworks. Tracera offers a full audit trail from source data to disclosure and spans Scope 1, 2 and 3 in one system.

For manufacturers, the point is one place that takes the messy, multi-site reality (think: utility bills, supplier documents, site-by-site variation) and turns it into numbers that hold up to an auditor. It is built for how plants actually work, not a generic ESG tool adapted to them.

Which reporting frameworks does Tracera cover?

Tracera supports the major regulatory and voluntary sustainability frameworks, including CSRD, IFRS S1/S2, CBAM, CSDDD and EUDR, with coverage for frameworks such as CDP, EU Taxonomy, SECR and UNGC. Custom frameworks can be configured for investor or customer questionnaires.

The value for manufacturers is consistent methodology across all of them. The same underlying inventory feeds each framework, so you are not rebuilding data for every new obligation.

How does Tracera handle messy or unstructured data like utility bills and supplier PDFs?

Tracera uses AI-based document extraction to pull structured values such as usage, cost and billing period from unstructured inputs like utility bills, invoices and PDFs, in any format or language. Tracera then flags anomalies before the data enters calculations. This cuts manual data entry and transcription error.

This is the part general tools skip and manufacturers feel most: the unstructured, site-by-site sources are where manual hours and audit-risk errors pile up. Tracera’s models are purpose-built for these documents rather than a generic OCR pass.

Can Tracera calculate Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions?

Yes. Tracera calculates Scope 1 and 2 at the site level and supports multiple Scope 3 methodologies — from spend-based estimates to supplier-specific data — across the GHG Protocol’s 15 categories, aligned to ISO 14064-3 and the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard.

For manufacturers, Scope 3 is where the complexity lives, and the platform is built to move you up the data-quality ladder over time. Methodology and factor sources are documented per category for audit.

How does Tracera keep data audit-ready?

Audit-readiness comes from traceability and controls, including full data lineage from source to disclosure, a complete change log, evidence attached at the data-point level and multi-level approval before data locks. Auditors can review the underlying records, not just the outputs.

Tracera supports a four-eye approval model — every entry is reviewed by a second person before it locks — and auditors log into the platform directly to review the work. That is the mechanism behind “holds up to any auditor.” The data trail is for inspection, not assertion.

Does Tracera replace our existing systems or work alongside them?

Tracera is designed to work alongside existing systems rather than replace them. It ingests data through integrations, file transfer and bulk upload. It connects to ERP, metering, billing and procurement systems rather than requiring you to move off them.

For manufacturers with established ERP and operational systems, that matters — onboarding does not mean ripping anything out. Pre-built connectors plus file transfer and template upload cover most enterprise integration patterns.

Watch it process a real document

The fastest way to understand the platform is to see it work. Bring a utility bill or a supplier PDF and we’ll run it live.
